Clients who are participating in intensive outpatient programs or IOP for short attend five three-hour sessions per week lasting from one to three months. Intensive therapies help to achieve and maintain sobriety.
IOP therapy sessions are structured, yet allow more flexibility in the client’s daily life. The individual can live at home while attending required therapy sessions. Therapy sessions may treat a person’s mental health issues, such as depression. IOP sessions are generally smaller in size than other therapy groups, which allow more individualized focus on a client’s specific needs.

IOP therapies may include:
Group therapy: Outpatient clients meet in a safe environment and discuss the many different aspects of their addiction, lives, and coping strategies with a licensed therapist.
Individual counseling: One-on-one counseling session where clients work with a therapist on individual needs.
Psychoeducational programming: Clients will learn how to make behavioral changes with the knowledge they learn in therapy.

These programs run during the daytime or evening and are held in a comfortable and therapeutic environment.
